Synopsis
The Clinical Psychologist at Etihad Airways will be responsible for supporting the mental health and well-being of our community including air crew and core staff. To provide up-to-date, evidence-based mental health services including clinical assessment, counselling and therapy, and intervention services to individuals experiencing psychological challenges related to aviation based on UAE regulation and international best practices. To perform assessment of fitness for work for employees and provide advice to company management. To provide practical advices pertaining to the preventive aspect of mental health in order to protect the health and welfare of employees.
Additionally, the clinical psychologist will collaborate with HR in pilot recruitment, selection, and promotion, as well as work closely with medical and well-being services as a subject matter expert (SME) to ensure comprehensive support for aviation personnel. She/He will contribute to grow the capacity of the team, plan the expansion of psychological services, and spearhead strategic projects related to psychological well-being within the organization.
Accountabilities
Collaborate with HR in the recruitment, selection, and promotion of air crew/core staff, including conducting psychological evaluations and providing recommendations based on assessment findings.
Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate the mental health and fitness of air crew/core staff following disruptions in their work due to long term illness, long leave of absence.
Provide evidence-based counselling and therapy to EY community including aircrew and flight deck crew
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for medical and well-being services, providing consultation and guidance on psychological aspects of employee health and wellness programs.
Offer training and support programs to enhance psychological resilience and well-being among airline crew and core staff.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Stay updated on research and best practices in aviation psychology to inform clinical practice and organizational policies.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
Master s or Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in the UAE
Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, within the aviation industry
Specialization or experience in aviation psychology preferred
Must be familiar with a variety of clinical assessment tools, therapeutic practices and procedures related to mental health
