Primary responsibilities

Perform detailed evaluations and diagnostics to determine surgical needs

Conduct various general surgical procedures, ensuring meticulous attention to safety and excellence

Oversee the entire patient care continuum, from pre-operative assessments to post-operative recovery

Engage with interdisciplinary teams to formulate effective treatment plans and address complex cases

Educate patients and families about surgical processes, potential outcomes, and post-operative care

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with medical standards

Keep abreast of ongoing developments in surgical techniques and technologies

Document patient interactions and surgical procedures accurately and promptly

Requirements

Medical doctor (MD) or equivalent from an accredited institution

Completion of a general surgery residency program

Board certification in general surgery required

A minimum of 5 years' experience as a consultant general surgeon

Comprehensive knowledge and proven proficiency in general surgical techniques

Strong communication skills and a dedicated approach to patient care

Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment

Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices

Proficiency in English; additional language skills are attractive
