Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant Paediatric Surgeon to join a leading tertiary-care healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The role involves the comprehensive surgical management of neonatal, infant, and paediatric surgical conditions, delivering high-quality care in line with international standards and best clinical practices.

The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary paediatric team, contributing to advanced surgical services, patient safety, and continuous service development.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

Provide consultant-level paediatric surgical care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents

Perform elective and emergency paediatric surgical procedures

Manage pre-operative assessment, operative planning, and post-operative care

Participate in on-call and emergency surgical services as required

Ensure optimal perioperative outcomes and patient safety

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Work closely with:

Paediatricians and neonatologists

Anaesthesiologists and intensivists

Nursing and allied health teams

Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and surgical meetings

Governance, Teaching & Quality

Maintain accurate and compliant medical documentation

Adhere to DOH (HAAD) regulations, hospital policies, and international clinical standards

Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and morbidity & mortality meetings

Support teaching, mentoring, and supervision of junior medical staff where applicable

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Licensing

Medical Degree with specialization in Paediatric Surgery

Recognized postgraduate qualification (e.g., Board Certification / Fellowship)

Eligible for DOH (HAAD) Consultant License or currently licensed

Experience

Consultant-level experience in paediatric surgery

Broad experience covering neonatal and paediatric surgical cases

Experience in tertiary or quaternary care centers preferred
