A leading, internationally accredited hospital group in Dubai, UAE is expanding its sports medicine and rehabilitation services and is seeking a highly skilled consultant/specialist sports medicine physician to join its multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering advanced musculoskeletal and sports injury care within a modern, technology-driven healthcare environment serving a diverse international patient population.

This opportunity is designed for board-certified sports medicine specialists seeking career progression, exposure to elite-level and general population sports injuries, and the ability to practice within a JCI-accredited, high-performance clinical setting.

Role overview

Position: Consultant/specialist sports medicine physician

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Hospital type: Private/government/multispecialty/tertiary care (JCI-accredited)

Experience required: Minimum 3+ years post specialist or board certification

Clinical scope: Non-surgical sports medicine, musculoskeletal care, rehabilitation, and performance optimisation

The successful candidate will work within a collaborative environment alongside orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation specialists.

Qualifications & board recognition

Applications are welcome from internationally trained physicians holding recognised specialist qualifications such as:

American Board (Sports Medicine/Family Medicine with Sports Medicine Fellowship)

UK CCT/SEM (Sport & Exercise Medicine)

European Board Certification

Royal College Certification (Canada)

Australian Fellowship

Arab Board

FCPS or equivalent recognised specialist qualification

Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for DHA/DOH/MOH license conversion (full guidance and support provided).

Key responsibilities – sports medicine

Diagnose and manage sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, including acute and chronic presentations.

Provide non-surgical treatment plans, including rehabilitation protocols, physiotherapy coordination, and return-to-play strategies.

Perform clinical assessments, functional evaluations, and movement analysis for injury prevention and performance optimisation.

Deliver injection therapies (e.g., corticosteroid, PRP where applicable) under appropriate clinical guidance.

Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Develop and oversee injury prevention programs for athletes and active individuals.

Provide pre-participation screening and fitness assessments for individuals and sports teams.

Educate patients and athletes on injury prevention, recovery strategies, and long-term musculoskeletal health.

Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.

Maintain accurate and compliant electronic medical records and clinical documentation.

Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and hospital protocols.
