Position Overview A leading Tier-1 hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Consultant / Staff Physician in Pain Medicine to join its multidisciplinary pain management services. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, evidence-based pain assessment and treatment for patients with acute and chronic pain conditions, working closely with surgical, medical, and rehabilitation teams.

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive pain assessment, diagnosis, and management for patients with acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain
Develop and implement individualized pain management plans, incorporating pharmacologic, interventional, and multidisciplinary approaches
Perform interventional pain procedures as appropriate (e.g., nerve blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency procedures) within credentialed scope
Collaborate with anesthesiology, oncology, surgery, rehabilitation, and primary care teams
Participate in multidisciplinary pain clinics and case discussions
Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust care plans to ensure optimal patient comfort and safety
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Contribute to patient education and chronic pain self-management strategies
Participate in on-call or after-hours coverage as required by the department
Support teaching, supervision, and CME activities when applicable
Preferred Experience
Experience in tertiary or multidisciplinary pain centers
Expertise in interventional pain techniques and multimodal pain management
Experience managing complex chronic pain and cancer pain cases
Prior international or Middle East practice experience is advantageous but not required
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution
Completed specialist training in a relevant base specialty (e.g., Anesthesiology, Neurology, PM&R, or related field)
Formal subspecialty training or fellowship in Pain Medicine from an accredited program
Recognized Specialist or Consultant certification (e.g., Arab Board, European Board, UK CCT, US Board, or equivalent)
Eligibility for DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) licensure at Specialist or Consultant level
Minimum 3 5 years post-qualification experience preferred (requirements vary by grade)
Strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and patient-centered approach
