In this role, you will:
Maintain all necessary licenses to meet DHA (and possibly GCAA) requirements to practice as a licensed doctor in Dubai. Fulfil continuing medical education (CME) requirements as stipulated.
Provide telephone-based medical advice for passengers before departure, including gate screening and onboard assessments to determine fitness to travel, demonstrating clear and structured communication with both medical and non-medical stakeholders.
Offer telemedicine-supported medical advice for inflight passengers, aiding aircrew in managing medical concerns and emergencies. Assist the captain and network control with timely, risk-based decision-making in dynamic and uncertain situations, including decisions on diversions for life-threatening conditions and serious medical emergencies.
Provide medical advice for outstation flight deck and cabin crew, including case management with local hospitals and medical providers, and assess their fitness to fly.
Qualification
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
Medical degree (MBChB, MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited university.
A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
Licensed as a specialist or consultant with DHA, or the eligibility to obtain such registration.
Qualifications and experience satisfactory to the Emirates Airline Clinic privileging committee for credentialing in specific specialist area.
Excellent stakeholder management skills (both internal and external), with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in time-critical situations.
Flexibility to work around shift requirements and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You'll have an edge if you have:
Prior experience in telemedicine.
Current medical registration with a recognized medical board or council. Fellowship or membership in a Royal College or equivalent is preferred.
Prior experience in aviation medicine or designation as an Aeromedical Examiner (AME) with a recognised aviation authority is advantageous.
