Position Overview

We are seeking an accomplished Head of Department (HOD) Emergency Medicine Consultant to lead a high-volume Emergency Department within a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. This strategic leadership role combines clinical excellence, trauma expertise, governance oversight, and departmental leadership to drive quality, safety, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert-level emergency medicine care and oversight for complex and high-acuity cases

Lead, manage, and develop the Emergency Medicine department, including consultants, specialists, and clinical staff

Oversee trauma services, emergency preparedness, and disaster management protocols

Establish and maintain clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety standards

Drive departmental strategy, service development, and performance improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies

Lead morbidity & mortality meetings, audits, and clinical education programs

Act as a key stakeholder in hospital leadership and multidisciplinary committees

Desired Candidate Profile

Residency training completed in Australia or the USA

Native English speaker

Recognized Consultant qualification in Emergency Medicine

Minimum of 5 10 years post-consultant experience, with proven leadership or HOD-level exposure

Strong background in trauma management, clinical governance, and team leadership

Valid or eligible DHA Consultant license

Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (mandatory)

Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
