Responsibilities

Strategic and Operational Alignment

Collaborate with the Service Line Manager to support the cluster’s strategic and operational goals.

Clinical Education & Patient Management

Assess patient needs through clinical data, medical history, and laboratory results.

Develop and implement personalized diabetes management plans.

Educate patients and families on medication administration (oral and injectable), blood glucose monitoring, diet, lifestyle changes, and complication prevention.

Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers when needed and track patient progress.

Advise physicians on insulin/oral hypoglycemic adjustments as clinically indicated.

Prioritize caseload efficiently and ensure timely, complete clinical documentation.

Quality & Compliance

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of clinical policies and procedures.

Ensure compliance with JCI, DOH/DHA, infection control, and health & safety standards.

Participate in clinical audits, research, service improvement initiatives, and educational programs.

Professional Development & Team Collaboration

Provide mentorship or guidance to team members as required.

Maintain professional development through CME and active participation in internal learning programs.

Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to patient advocacy.

General Responsibilities

Promote safe and inclusive care, taking proactive steps to report incidents or risks.

Support wider organizational goals in a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.

Comply with Occupational Safety & Health and infection prevention practices across the facility.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nutrition, or related field

Completion of recognized diabetes education specialty certification (per DOH/DHA guidelines)

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in a diabetes education or similar clinical setting

Licensure:

Valid DOH/DHA License or eligibility

Skills & Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of diabetes care, including latest technologies and treatment approaches

Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory frameworks

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills

Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Frequent use of computers, AV equipment, and standard office tools

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods during education sessions

Mobility to navigate between departments and engage with multidisciplinary teams
