Who We Are

The Surgical Department at Erlangen University Hospital with its clinics and departments (General, Visceral, Cardiac, Trauma, Plastic, Hand, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, as well as Oral, Maxillofacial and Facial Surgery) offers an interesting insight into the complex world of modern surgery.

Nursing staff operate on the wards, in the operating center and in functional areas as part of an interdisciplinary team with appreciation, commitment and high professional expertise for the benefit of patients.

The Tasks

You take over the preparation, monitoring and follow-up care during surgical procedures

You implement hygienic and aseptic regulations in the operating department

You handle sterile materials

You carry out disinfection and disposal measures

You prepare the operating units, including the instruments, materials and equipment needed for the operation, appropriately before and after

You operate medical equipment properly and take responsibility for instructing other employees (X-ray equipment, RF equipment) in accordance with the Medical Devices Act guidelines

You carry out documentation in the OR EDV system

You supervise trainees and provide guidance

Successfully completed training as a health and nursing professional (m/w/d)

Personal, social and professional competence as well as sense of responsibility and willingness to cooperate with other professional groups

Flexibility, commitment and interest in regular specialist training, innovative thinking and action

Additionally Advantageous

Successfully completed specialist further education in OR
