Don't miss this exciting opportunity to join our Theatre Department as a Surgical Veterinary Nurse at Massey Vets.

We're seeking applications from qualified veterinary nurses or veterinary technologists to work within our Theatre Department, providing surgical support to the Companion Animal Hospital, alongside our Equine, Farm, and Wildbase Clinics at New Zealand's only Veterinary School. This role offers the chance to build surgical experience in a supportive, collaborative teaching hospital environment, with excellent opportunities for professional growth.

This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week), working Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm (with eventual participation in an on-call roster approx. 1 week in 12). The ability and willingness to work on call for evenings, weekends and public holidays is essential.

You'll be joining a fabulous, close-knit theatre team made up of four dedicated and highly skilled theatre nurses, working alongside experienced veterinarians and a specialist surgeon. You'll collaborate closely with our anaesthesia team.

Our theatres see an exciting and diverse caseload, ranging from routine general practice procedures to advanced referral surgeries. You'll be exposed to cutting-edge techniques and equipment, including fluoroscopy, laparoscopy, hip replacements, spinal surgery and fracture repairs. The hospital boasts a dedicated three-room sterile supply, as well as purpose built orthopaedic, soft tissue, and teaching theatres.
