Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.)
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Program Team Manager, Rehabilitation Services and Geriatrics, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Geriatric Day Hospital Nurse is responsible for: providing quality nursing care for the geriatric patient population in the day hospital and community settings (including home visits); and performing other related duties as assigned.
Experience
Two (2) years recent nursing experience in an acute care geriatric medicine and/or geriatric nursing in a community setting required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certificate in Gerontology is preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Current CRNM registration required.
Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications And Skills
Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including e-mail, internet and word processing applications required.
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
