Job description:-

Doukas School is seeking a Nurse for the school's First Aid Station. The primary responsibility is student care and the immediate management of health incidents during the school day.

The role is integral to the daily operation of the school and requires responsibility, composure, and organizational consistency within an environment that prioritizes child safety.

Responsibilities

Medical Care: Evaluates health incidents and provides necessary nursing care according to current medical guidelines.

Emergency Response: Provides first aid and arranges transport to a medical center when deemed necessary.

Station Management: Ensures the smooth operation of the First Aid Station (organization, cleanliness, and sufficiency of supplies/medication).

Record Keeping: Maintains and updates student health records and the visit logbook.

Communication: Directly communicates with parents/guardians regarding health incidents or accidents.

Preventative Support: Supports the execution of preventative screenings (e.g., dental, pediatric) and informs parents accordingly.

Supply Chain: Monitors stock and organizes the procurement of medications and consumables.

Activity Prep: Prepares first aid kits for field trips and athletic activities; briefs chaperones on students' specific needs.

Summer Camp: Participates in supporting Summer Camp activities, focusing on child safety and health.

Insurance: Manages communication with insurance companies for incidents where required.

Qualifications

Required:

Education: Degree in Nursing (University, Technical Institute, or Certified Vocational Institute).

Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare facility or an environment involving children.

Crisis Management: Ability to handle emergency incidents with composure and precision.

Ethics: Adherence to confidentiality and professional ethics.

Desired:

Experience in a school environment.

First Aid Certification (specifically Pediatric First Aid).
