Responsibilities:

The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students, providing medical care, and supporting health education initiatives within the school community.

Health Assessments:

Conduct health assessments and screenings for students to identify any health concerns. Maintain accurate and confidential health records for each student.

First Aid and Emergency Response:

Provide immediate first aid and medical care for students and staff in case of injuries or illnesses. Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.

Health Education:

Deliver health education programs to students, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care. Collaborate with teachers to integrate health education into the curriculum.

Medication Management:

Administer prescribed medications to students according to established protocols. Educate and train school staff on medication administration procedures.

Health Promotion: Implement health promotion activities and campaigns within the school community. Organize health-related events and workshops for students, parents, and staff.

Communication with Parents:

Communicate with parents regarding students' health concerns and coordinate follow-up care when needed. Collaborate with parents to obtain necessary health information and consent.

Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:

Collaborate with external healthcare professionals, such as physicians and specialists, to ensure comprehensive care for students. Facilitate referrals to external healthcare providers as needed.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for students, including immunization records and medical histories. Generate reports on health trends and concerns within the school population.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing and valid nursing license

Certification in School Nursing

CPR and First Aid Certification

Experience:

3-5 years of experience with at least 2-3 years of experience, preferably in an educational setting
