Position overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nursing Manager to lead and manage the OR nursing team. This role ensures the provision of safe, patient- and family-focused quality care while maintaining operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, clinical expertise, and experience managing nursing staff in a high-acuity surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the 24-hour operations of the Operating Room (OR) nursing unit.

Assess, plan, direct, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with Elegancia Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCI).

Promote teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration within the OR and across departments.

Evaluate patient acuity and determine appropriate staffing, skill mix, and scheduling.

Act as a resource for staff, providing guidance, support, and expert clinical advice.

Manage personnel functions including recruitment, performance management, training, and corrective action when necessary.

Support risk management initiatives and ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, resource allocation, and patient care delivery.

Monitor and report key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed.

Contribute to the development of departmental short- and mid-term plans aligned with organizational strategy and financial objectives.

Support the commissioning of new OR departments and licensing processes in the GCC (preferred).

Requirements

Required skills & experience

Minimum 8 years of nursing experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial role in an Operating Room.

Experience working in GCC healthcare facilities (preferred).

Comprehensive knowledge of accreditation processes, particularly JCI standards.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical, financial, and legal information.

Strong communication skills and the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.

ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.

Preferred skills

Previous experience in commissioning an OR department.

Experience with OR licensing processes in the GCC.

Education & licensing

Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

Certifications in Advanced Clinical Assessment, Crisis Management, Regulatory Compliance, Clinical Guidelines and Protocols, and Evidence-Based Practice (Level 4).
