About the role
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at this government facility, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions affecting the oral and facial regions. You will perform a range of surgical procedures, such as tooth extractions, facial reconstructive surgeries, and trauma treatment. Your expertise will contribute to the health and well-being of a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' oral and facial conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include surgical interventions
Perform surgical procedures, such as extractions, implants, and corrective jaw surgeries
Diagnose and manage oral diseases, infections, and congenital deformities
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
Oversee post-operative care and monitor patients' recovery
Engage in community education and outreach programs regarding oral health
Stay current with best practices and advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery
Requirements
Medical degree (MD or DMD) with specialized training in oral and maxillofacial surgery
Experience in performing various oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures in a clinical setting, preferably in a government or community health environment
Comprehensive knowledge of current surgical techniques and practices
Strong understanding of oral anatomy, pathology, and surgical management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and staff
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle complex surgical cases
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly in emergency situations
