About the Role
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in a government healthcare facility, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, and face. Your expertise will be vital in performing surgical procedures including tooth extractions, jaw realignment, and trauma-related surgeries. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' oral and maxillofacial health, including comprehensive medical histories
Develop and implement detailed treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
Perform a variety of surgical procedures such as extractions, implants, and reconstructive surgeries
Diagnose and manage oral pathologies, infections, and injuries
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated patient care
Provide post-operative care and address any complications that arise
Stay current with advancements and best practices in oral and maxillofacial surgery
Requirements
Medical degree (DMD or MD) with specialized training in oral and maxillofacial surgery
Experience in performing a diverse array of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures
Thorough understanding of surgical techniques related to oral and maxillofacial conditions
Solid knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and treatment strategies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect effectively with patients
Attention to detail and the ability to manage complex surgical situations
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
Proficiency in critical thinking and problem-solving within a clinical context
