Position overview
We are seeking an experienced orientation and training nursing educator to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing education programs. This role focuses on enhancing orientation, ongoing competency, and professional development for nursing staff and leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of clinical and non-clinical nursing practices, experience in adult education, and the ability to support operational excellence in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
Collect and assess data on nursing education needs, trends, and issues to design comprehensive education programs for specific units and clinics.
Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation programs, ongoing competency training, and professional development initiatives for nursing staff and leadership.
Develop and integrate clinical and nonclinical nursing programs that enhance patient safety and improve medical practices.
Plan, develop, and evaluate preceptor programs to strengthen orientation processes and improve staff retention.
Design curricula based on evidence-based practice and use teaching methods suitable for diverse learning styles and environments.
Provide input into nursing policies, systems, processes, and procedures, identifying areas for improvement to support operational efficiency.
Contribute to the development and execution of departmental short- and mid-term plans aligned with strategic priorities and annual business plans.
Monitor and report key performance indicators and recommend corrective actions to maintain high standards of nursing education and operations.
Manage performance, career progression, and professional development of direct reports through mentoring, coaching, and constructive feedback.
Contribute ideas for efficient department structures, workflow optimization, and resource allocation.
Provide input into departmental budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and recommend mitigating actions if required.
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Management (HSE&E & QM) policies and procedures to guarantee staff safety, regulatory compliance, and delivery of high-quality services.
Requirements
Required skills & experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in nurse training or nursing education.
Minimum 3 years experience in GCC healthcare settings (preferred).
Strong knowledge of nursing and healthcare industry standards, hospital procedures, and patient care practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Problem-solving mindset with a positive attitude.
ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
Preferred skills
Additional certifications in nursing education or healthcare training.
Education & licensing
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Business Administration.
