Rotation: 8 weeks on / 4 weeks off

Role tasks and responsibilities

In addition to a normal CP operator, the paramedic will be responsible for and provide immediate medical life support in case of incident or accident.

Execute any other medical tasks as deemed appropriate by the SPM/SOM/AEB Registered Nurse.

Provide immediate emergency medical support to personnel under your responsibility.

If required, liaise and arrange evacuation to the next level of medical care.

Provide a detailed handover of any patients/casualties to the next level of care.

Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are maintained, serviced, and in date.

Conduct the following management check in accordance with the returns and equipment check matrix (Annex A section 2).

Update medical venue assessments at the end of each mission.

Conduct CP operations under the direction of the CPTL and OSM in compliance with the host nation’s rules and regulations, RM SOPs, contractual obligations, and all applicable EHS Safety Management Systems (SMS).

Provide immediate emergency medical support and support in case of medevac.

Assist the CPTL in gathering and analyzing information required for the planning, rehearsal, and safe execution of a CPT mission.

Requirements

Only FVEY national candidates (AUS, NZ, USA, UK, CAN) will be considered for this role.

The paramedic must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in pre-hospital, remote, and acute care.

Fluent in written and spoken English.

Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office.

Nationally registered as a Paramedic (minimum – Australian Diploma level), Registered Nurse, Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, EMT-P (AHPRA or HCPC/HCPCSA or FVEYS equivalent professional body).

Current Basic and Advanced Life Support Certificate.

Completed Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course or equivalent.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in remote, complex, or operational environments, e.g., NGO, military, private security, isolated practice.

Working with children check and clearance (repatriations).

Health planning experience.

Desirable skills also include:

Previous experience working in a diplomatic environment.

Previous in-country experience in a similar capacity.

A working knowledge of Arabic (Iraqi dialect).
