Roles & Responsibilities

Dispensing correct medicines, checking the dose and ensuring that medicines are correctly supplied as per the prescription.

Consulting doctor immediately in case the pharmacist/Assistant pharmacist is unable to read the prescription as in no case medicines can be dispensed on guess work.

Advising the patient regarding the correct dose, drug regimen i.e.; the duration and the suitable mode of administration of drugs.

Informing them of the probable untoward/side effects which is likely to happen as a result of administration of the drug prescribed.

Answer the queries of the patients about the probable side effects and benefits of the drug therapy.

Seek immediate help from the doctor in case the drug shows some side effects on the patient.

Recommend drugs to visitors with minor ailments.

Advise and help patients about stress management, diet and exercise.

Help patients with asthma, diabetes and other diseases to get relief.

Help the management medical billing and paper work of medical health insurance for company patients.

Selling only over the counter (OTC) medicines without prescription for minor ailments.

Supervise the medicine store and take proper care of the medicines.

Managing, supervising and training assistant and junior pharmacist and other support staff.

Keeping a register of the controlled drug of the country concerned and ensuring the compliance of the same by the coworkers.

Maintenance of the data cold chain refrigerator graph for the storage of vaccines as per Ministry of Health guidelines.

Ensuring the adherence and compliance to the other guidelines issued by Ministry of Health.

Maintenance of good pharmacy practice and ethical practice.

Maintenance of good rapport with the patients/customers by minimizing the communication barriers.
