Clinical Care & Patient Management

• Provide specialised care within ICU, Operation Theatre/CSSD, or Maternity Ward

• Monitor patient conditions and respond to clinical changes appropriately

• Execute doctors’ orders accurately and maintain proper documentation

• Support patient care across pre, intra, and post-treatment stages depending on specialty

Specialised Responsibilities (by function)

• ICU: Manage critical care patients, including ventilators and advanced monitoring equipment

• OT/CSSD: Support surgical procedures, maintain sterile techniques, and manage instrument

sterilisation

• Midwife: Provide antenatal, labour, delivery, and postnatal care, including patient education

Patient Support & Experience

• Provide clear communication and emotional support to patients and families

• Educate patients on care processes, recovery, or postnatal needs

Operations & Coordination

• Perform nursing rounds and support doctors during procedures or assessments

• Ensure proper handover between shifts

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective care delivery

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards

• Participate in audits, incident reporting, and quality improvement initiatives

Team Support & Development

• Support and guide junior nurses and healthcare staff

• Participate in training and continuous professional development

Requirements

• Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid practicing license

• Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience

• Post Basic qualification in ICU, Perioperative Nursing, or Midwifery (depending on role)

• Relevant certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP
